FSSA currently provides vehicle modifications
for eligible consumers under an agreed upon fee schedule. The
schedule was derived from an analysis of actual modification costs
from 2001 – 2005. A worksheet
of costs can be downloaded here and a fee
schedule was established. Fees were agreed upon maximum assigned
costs and no additional charges are incurred by eligible consumers
who are funded through the Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
Vehicle modifications funded by Indiana Vocational
Rehabilitation are governed by the State Policy. Current policy
requires that any retail dealer who provides vehicle modifications,
must have a signed contract with the agency agreeing to participate
with the assigned cost. They must also be a fully qualified NMEDA
QAP Dealer. Possible retail dealers can be found at the National
Mobility Equipment Dealers Association website. http://www.nmeda.org/directory/qap_members.html
A list of current driver rehabilitation specialists
serving consumers in Indiana can be downloaded here.
Other evaluators can be found at the Association of Driver Educators
for the Disabled website. http://www.aded.net/custom/directory-cdrs/?pageid=320&showTitle=1
A copy of the guidelines for consumers who
are planning their driver rehabilitation and vehicle modification
